JOEL M. SHAFFERMAN
Joel M. Shafferman, Esq. is an Insolvency and Creditor Rights Attorney who regularly appears in the United States Bankruptcy Courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. Mr. Shafferman, a former law clerk to a United States Bankruptcy Judge, has extensive experience in representing debtors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases, and both secured and unsecured creditors in the bankruptcy courts and state courts.
His experience includes matters involving fraudulent transfers, preferential transfers, discharge and dischargeability, equitable subordination of claims, purchases of assets in sales under section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code, and cross border proceedings ancillary to foreign cases under section 304 of the Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Shafferman is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on insolvency-related issues and he has lectured extensively in this area. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York and in the Bankruptcy Court in Colorado. Since 1997, Mr. Shafferman has been an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Law at Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School in New York City.

Debbie Feldman Esq.is an Attorney who is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. In addition to her legal background, Debbie holds a Masters degree in Social Work and a Post Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Social Work and Family Therapy. She has over twenty years of experience in practicing, supervising and teaching in the area of family and couple relationships and individual psychotherapy. Included in that experience is extensive work with families in the midst of a serious crisis from a diagnosis of a terminal illness or from cancer.
